Designed by Duggald Drummond in 1897 for the London and South Western Railway, the 700 Class was a class of 0-6-0 locomotives designed for freight work.
The 30 locomotives subsequently passed to Southern Railways, then British Rail, with the last locomotive withdrawn in 1962.
