His aircraft are depicted with almost photographic accuracy while maintaining an artful flair. His use of colors and lighting are stunning, too. Best known for his Hasegawa box art, his paintings have also adorned calendars here in Japan, and that’s where this collection’s works are primarily taken from. 44 paintings that you’ve probably never seen before join 14 more works from relatively recent Hasegawa box art. Book is printed on ultra high-quality art stock and hardbound, with a paper cover and heavy cardboard outer slipcase, too. Commentary on the aircraft depicted (not on the paintings themselves) by Katsuhiko Tokunaga (a world-class aviation photographer) is, unfortunately, in Japanese only.

This book is a limited-release with a print run of 5,000 copies only.
