Adapted from the item’s manual:
The Mk.IV was the last version of the Vildebeest to be built for the RAF. With sleeve valve Bristol Perseus engine covered with an aerodynamically shaped cowling it was well distinguishable. The prototype was still equiped with two-bladed wooden propeller and the series machines got three-bladed metal propellers. Anti-submarine patrols were the main job for the planes in New Zealand as late as 1941, but the next year saw them already in training roles. It was only the arrival of the more modern Harvard trainers that caused the end of Vildebeest career and they were finally written off in 1943.
Parts come molded in gray. Includes photo-etched parts, decals and injection molded resin parts.
