The Stinson OY-2 Sentinel was called the L-5 by the U.S. military; it was used by the Air Force, Army and Marine Corps. 35 of this type of aircraft were provided to Japan in 1935, and they were used by the SDF. They were transferred to the GSDF in 1954, and operated there until 1957.
