This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

This kit from Kora Models is a completely new mold! The Ki-93 is a ground attack aircraft prototyped by the Japanese Army. It was developed as a successor to the Mitsubishi Ki-51 assault aircraft with an emphasis on close air support; the prototype was completed and made its maiden flight in April 1945, but it was destroyed by an air raid, and the war ended before it entered production.

It was armed with a large-caliber 57mm cannon intended to destroy a tank’s upper armor; the engine was almost the same size as that used for the Navy’s Galaxy aircraft, and used a six-bladed propeller for the first time in Japan. It was planned to demonstrate th e same level of maneuverability as a twin-engine fighter. The main wing was straight with a two-step taper, making it an ideal laminar flow wing as an airfoil at high speeds. The pilot’s seat was placed at the front of the fuselage to emphasize visibility, and enclosed with bulletproof glass and steel plate; the fuel tank was covered with rubber.
