The Ta prototype special attack aircraft was developed by the Japanese Army at the end of the Pacific War. Development began in February 1945 by the Army Aerotechnical Research Institute, and both Japan International Aviation Industry Co., Ltd. and Tachikawa Aircraft Company were instructed to develop this aircraft. The Ta-Go made by Japan International Aviation Industry is a single-seat aircraft with a total length of about five meters; the engine is the same “Ha 47” as the company’s four-type basic training aircraft, and it was equipped with one 100kg bomb. The main wing was a low-wing monoplane type with a tapered wing; it was possible to manually fold the outer wing upward so that the aircraft could be hidden in a bunker. The main landing gear was fixed, there was no tail wheel, and a tail sled was used. The fuselage was made entirely out of wood to reduce the use of metal, and because it was easy to produce even in a sparsely populated factory. The propeller was a wooden fixed-pitch two-wing version. The first prototype was completed in June 1945, but the war came to an end before it could enter mass production.
