This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

A huge kit of one of world’s more famous “almost was” aircraft. The TSR-2 occupies a special place in the hearts of British aviation fans, fans who were apparently not fully satisfied with Airfix’s 1/72 TSR-2 kit. So the ante has been upped to this impressively large boxing in 1/48 scale. Upon opening the box we are presented with some impressively large fuselage halves, and an equally impressively tiny wing. Having seen the actual aircraft in person, I can confirm Airfix has done a very good job indeed of capturing the awkward proportions of the prototype. Well-detailed cockpits and pilot figures are provided, as well as equally well-done gear and weapons bays. Speedbrakes can be posed open, and decals are given for XR219, XR220, and XR222.
