The Trident is a three-engine jetliner developed by the British aircraft manufacturer Hawker Siddeley. The Trident 1C, an improved version with added features such as a central fuel tank compared to the prototype Trident 1A, made its first flight in 1962 and entered service in 1964. The Trident series, with 117 units produced by 1975, became one of the iconic jetliners of the UK that operated in the 1970s and 1980s.
