The Cessna 1/72 Skyhawk is a four-seat, single-engine, high-wing fixed-wing aircraft made by the Cessna Aircraft Company. First flown in 1955 and still in production, more Cessna 1/72s have been built than any other aircraft. Measured by its longevity and popularity, the Cessna 1/72 is the most successful mass-produced light aircraft in history. The first production models were delivered in 1956. As of 2008, more than 43,000 had been built.

This prepainted, pre-assembled model of the Cessna 1/72 Skyhawk is modeled after a Skyhawk found on the flight line of Sporty’s Pilot Ship. It is used for recreational to career pilot training at Sporty’s flight school, which is located at the Sporty’s Clermont County Airport (I69) in Batavia, Ohio. Sporty’s has been deeply involved in aviation education since 1961 and has produced hundreds of hours of video-based educational content on all aspects of flying.
