1/32 Messerschmitt Me262A-2a

Description

This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

Trumpeter continues their 1/32 Me262 series with this very impressive kit of the Me262A-2a bomber. This kit is exquisitely detailed inside and out, and includes such details as photo-etched seatbelts, individual control levers for the throttle quadrant, seperate pieces for the gunsight reflectors, both early and late styles of nosewheels and nose struts, fully detailed gun bays that can be built with the doors open, two Jumo 004 turbojets that are highly-detailed kits in themselves, clear nacelles that will show off all that engine detail, seperate flaps, slats, ailerons, elevators and rudder and a fully detailed fuselage interior which is visible through a removable radio access panel. The landing gear struts are provided in both plastic and white metal. The canopy can be posed either open or closed. New parts for this kit consist of 2 each SC250 and SC500 bombs as well as both style of bomb rack carried by the 262. The instructions show one type fitted to the SC250 and one type to the SC500, however I believe either rack could hold up to 500 kg, and a given airplane would have been delivered with one or the other, but they were probably not switched during that plane’s (short) life. In theory, the pylons would have been interchangable, though. Also, the nose panel for both the A-2a, with its 2 (not 4) 30mm cannon is provided, as well as the 4-gun nose panel of the A-1A. In other words, this kit can build any of the production single-seat Schwalbes, the A-1a, A-1a Jabo and A-2a. Decals are included for 9k+BN of 5./KG(J)51 and Guenther Kahler’s B3+GL of I/KG(J)54. A highly-recommended kit of an important aircraft.
