The Saunders-Roe SR.53 is a prototype fighter aircraft from the UK that first flew in 1957. In the 1950s, the British Air Force began to be interested in rocket motors, and seeking high-performance interceptors, the SR.53 was developed. The engine is a Viper 8 turbojet engine, plus a D.H. Spector rocket engine. Armaments include two Fire Streak missiles.
