The Canberra is a jet light bomber developed by English Electric Company of the United Kingdom, and adopted by the British Air Force. Since this machine, which first flew in 1949, had excellent speed performance, high altitude performance, and operability at low altitudes, many derivative types such as a reconnaissance machine type and practice machine type were developed based on the bomber type. It was also adopted by the United States and Australia, and produced under license in those countries. The B.2 was a bomber type for the British Air Force; it was equipped with an Axon 101 axis-flow turbojet engine.
