The Dash 8Q400-AT is a low-noise aircraft equipped with a noise and vibration suppression device, modified for the French Civil Security Agency by Canada’s Cascade Aerospace. With a large detachable fire extinguisher tank under the fuselage, this machine can carry up to 9,800 liters of extinguisher to fight wildfires. Outside of French Civil Security, Cascade Aerospace’s parent company, the Conair Group, operates several of this aircraft in Canada, operating them as transports with the extinguishing agent tank removed during non-bush season.
