From the manufacturer:
In the Soviet Union in the 1930s, Nikolay Nikolayevich Polikarpov (1892-1944) was called the “King of Fighters.” His aircraft always were superior to their opponents at the time of their creation. A total of about 80 aircraft of various types were developed by N.N. Polikarpov. The most advanced fighter, Polikarpov I-185, was prepared in his bureau for mass production in 1943. On the sum of all its characteristics, the I-185 excelled both serial and experimental Soviet and foreign fighters in its class at that time. It was successfully confirmed during the military tests on the Kalinin Front in December 1942 – January 1943.
