The Ki-15-I “Babs” was adopted into service on May 1937 as the Type 97 Command Reconnaissance Plane to fulfill its role as a strategic reconnaissance aircraft. The 18th Independent Flying Squadron employed the Babs in China. The unit flew long range missions, and a tiger was adopted as the unit emblem in April 1939 in a reference to a proverb involving a tiger.
This model kit measures about 18.3cm long and 25cm wide when completed.
