This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
When trying to land on snowy runways, wheels maybe aren’t the greatest thing to be using for landing gear. During WWII the Russians and Finnish equipped a number of their aircraft with skis in order to land on the snow. In an era where biplanes were being dropped in favor of new monoplane designs, the I-153 holds the unique distinction of being a biplane fighter developed after its monoplane cousin the I-16 due to experience gained in combat during the Spanish Civil War.
ICM brings us a new version of their nicely detailed 1/72nd scale I-153 Chaika kit, with new parts added to build the winter version with skis!
